"Western Show" is the sixteenth episode of Season 3 of Wizards of Waverly Place, and the sixty-seventh overall of the series. It first aired on May 14, 2010.

Synopsis[]

Mr. Laritate loses his job as principal of Tribeca Prep, having been replaced by Superintendent Clanton, an authoritative figure who enforces a uniformed dress code. While the strict expectation to conform to law and order causes Max to sharpen up, Clanton rebuffs Alex's pranks and Justin's attempt to curry favor, causing the two to hatch a plan to reinstate Laritate as their principal. Because Laritate's dream is to be a cowboy in the Old West, Alex sends them back to the West in order to convince Laritate that modern times are better.

  • Justin tells Alex that he wants the smaller pony since he is afraid of heights, although in previous episodes he has flown the magic carpet at a much higher altitude, leveling the tops of skyscrapers.
  • In an earlier episode, Alex reveals that Justin has a fear of ponies; however, Justin has no problem being near and riding them in this episode.
  • Harper is absent in this episode, though she was credited.
  • Justin talks about his centaur girlfriend to the horse in front of Mr. Laritate, this might expose their wizard secret.
  • This episode is similar to the iCarly (2007) episode iHave My Principals and The Simpsons episode Team Homer where the characters had to wear school uniforms. This episode is also similar to The Suite Life of Zack & Cody episode Hotel Inspector.
