This is a timeline of events depicted in Wizards of Waverly Place, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex, and Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

This list includes the mainstream timeline and all the Alternative Universes and alternate realities, including the time changes from the episodes First Kiss and Rock Around the Clock, and the No-parents parallel universe from Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.

  • At some point after Jerry Russo fell in love with Theresa, he gives his powers to Kelbo in order to marry Theresa since wizards can't married non-wizards. Then Megan then cut ties with the family because despises them after Jerry gave his powers to Kelbo, who was less skilled at magic than her, and then moved to a loft in Paris where she is a painter.

• London Tipton was born on October 6, 1990.
• Justin Russo was born sometime in late October 1991 to Theresa and Jerry Russo.
• Zeke Beakerman was born at some point, possibly in 1991 to unknown parents.
• Warren Nichols was born at some point.
• Harper Finkle was born around c. 1993 backstage behind a nightclub to Elaine and Marty Finkle.
• Alex Russo was born on August 10, 1993 to Theresa and Jerry Russo.
• Stevie Nichols was born at some point.
• Zack and Cody Martin were born at some point between 1992 and 1993.
• Max Russo was born sometime in 1995 to Theresa and Jerry Russo.
• Alex Russo and Harper Finkle meet in kindergarten and become best friends.

2000s

• The first episode of Wizards of Waverly Place, titled Crazy 10-Minute Sale premieres on October 12, 2007 on Disney Channel.
• Alex uses Magic to duplicate herself in order to attend the Crazy 10-Minute Sale and skip wizard lesson while Max covers for her with her dad. But Harper runs into Theresa who went to the sale to get something for Alex and Harper has to distract her and hide Alex from her. Meanwhile, Max receives Jerry’s old wand, which he sits on and breaks. Later on, he receives his new wand and uses it on the duplicate of Alex, which unknown to him, the real Alex copies and gets caught by her mother and father, who caught on to what was going on. Then back at home, all the kids get in trouble and Alex gets grounded and as for her punishment, Jerry has her duplicate him so he can watch the big game and his duplicate takes Theresa dancing.
• Justin Russo meets Miranda Hampson in science class when they are assigned lab partners.
• Alex reverses time eighteen times in order to help Justin get his first kiss.
• Miranda and Justin have their first kiss in the episode First Kiss.
• Max Russo gets his full wizard powers for the first time at age 12, officially qualifying him to compete in the Family Wizard Competition in the episode Potion Commotion.
• On Harper Finkle's 16th birthday, Alex Russo reveals she’s a wizard to Harper Finkle and shows her the Russo Family Wizard Lair for the first time.
• Harper Finkle is sent back in time by a powerful wizard and begins writing and publishing books based on Russo Family’s wizard adventures because where she comes from, people already know wizards exist due to one of the three Russo siblings, so it’s not really a big deal to read about them in her time, and she finds it’s more interesting to read about wizards in this time where people don’t know they exist.
• Justin Russo first meets Juliet van Heusen at the Late Nite Bite, ran by Juliet and her parents. The Russos find out that Juliet and her parents are vampires and Juliet soon tells Justin that she knows he’s a wizard and the two soon began their relationship.

2010s

• Juliet van Heusen is taken by the Mummy.
• Alex Russo first meets Mason Greybeck at school while in art class and soon begin their relationship.
• The Russos and Harper Finkle find out that Mason Greybeck is a werewolf.
• Justin Russo, with help from Mason Greybeck rescue Juliet from the Mummy. Max , Alex, and Justin defeat the Mummy and find out that Mason and Juliet used to date and Mason accidentally tells Juliet that he has never stopped loving her right in front of Alex, which breaks her heart and she breaks up with her and teleports back home where she is heart broken and her family and Harper try to cheer her up. Mason tries to prove his love for Alex with the magic necklace, which only glows when you’re in love with the person who puts on you. Justin finds Alex and fights Mason to protect his sister and Juliet fights Mason to protect Justin and he scratches her, which causes her to lose her vampire powers and look her real age and she bites Mason, which causes him to turn into a wolf and him and Alex end their relationship, while Justin and Juliet end their relationship, leaving both siblings heartbroken and the two comfort each other.
• Harper Finkle and Zeke Beakerman begin dating.
• Alex finds Mason Greybeck and the Russos restores Mason back to normal and the two resume their relationship.
• Justin Russo and Zeke Beakerman graduates High School at Tribeca Prep in 2010.
• Justin Russo falls under the influence of Rosie, an Angel of Darkness, who he falls in love with and the two date for a brief time.
• While under the bad influence of Rosie, Justin Russo steals the Moral Compass from the Guardian Angels and brings it to Gorog, the leader of the Angels of Darkness and gains his own wings and becomes an Angel of Darkness for a brief time.
• Alex Russo saves Justin and the world from the Angels of Darkness and returns the Moral Compass back to the Guardian Angels with help from Tina, a guardian angel-in-training. Justin is returned to the side of good with help from now redeemed Rosie, who has turned good again. Tina is awarded with official guardian angel status and gains her wings. Rosie becomes a guardian angel once again.
• Zeke Beakerman finds out the Russos are wizards and sees the Russo Family Wizard Lair for the first time.
• In 2011, Alex, Justin and Max Russo save Earth from being destroyed by an Asteroid.
• Harper Finkle and Alex Russo graduate High School at Tribeca Prep in 2011.
• The Russo siblings save the Wizard World from Gorog, who they defeat by combining their powers. Juliet van Heusen is found, who was restored to normal by Gorog, who turns her young again and her and Justin resume their relationship.
• In the Summer of 2011, Alex Russo wins the Russo Family Wizard Competition.
• In the Fall of 2011, Justin Russo starts his new job as the Headmaster of WizTech where he becomes the youngest Headmaster in WizTech history.
• Wizards of Waverly Place series finale Who Will Be The Family Wizard premieres on January 6, 2012 on Disney Channel where it becomes the most watched series finale in Disney Channel's history.
• At some point Justin Russo and Juliet van Heusen break up.
• The reunion special The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex premieres on March 15, 2013 on Disney Channel. The Russo Family plus Harper and Mason, but minus Justin due to being busy at WizTech at the time, plans to take a trip to Italy for a Russo Family Reunion. Alex meets the wizard Dominic and casts a spell to remove all her bad parts, creating an Evil Alex, who works together to inprison all mortals and create a wizard empire and captures the Russo Family, Harper, and Mason to trap Alex and force her into casting a spell to in prison all mortals, but manages to save her family and the world, defeating Dominic and her evil self.
• At some point Justin Russo was fired from being Headmaster of WizTech due to a unicorn incident which causes Justin to leave being a wizard and magic behind for good and all in the past and stopped talking wizard stuff with his dad and he hasn’t picked up a wand since.
• Alistair Goodspeed becomes the new headmaster of WizTech after Justin is fired.
• At some point after the Russo Family Wizard Competition, Justin Russo meets Giada.
• Max Russo turns the Waverly Sub Station into a franchise and becomes a billionaire.
• Justin and Giada Russo get married.
• Roman Russo was born to Giada and Justin Russo between 2012 and 2013.
• Billie was born in 2012 to an unknown wizard family in the Wizard World.
• Winter was born.
• Nerissa was born.
• Milo Russo was born to Giada and Justin Russo between 2014 and 2015.
• Bella Bianchi was born to Anita Bianchi and an unknown father.
• At some point, Justin Russo becomes the Vice Principal of Greenwald Middle School.
• Alex Russo becomes a member of the Wizard Tribunal at some point.

2020s

• Billie and Nerissa meet at WizTech and become best friends and are known as the chaos queens.
• Billie is kicked out of WizTech.
• On Justin Russo's 34th birthday his sister Alex Russo shows up with Billie at his house. Milo and Roman Russo meet Billie and find out about wizards. Justin Russo agrees to train Billie and picks up and uses his wand again for the first time in a while.
• The day after Justin Russo's 34th birthday, Billie accidentally reveals to Roman and Milo Russo that their dad is a wizard. Then Giada Russo sees Justin using magic and he reveals to her that he’s a wizard and she finds out about wizards and also that Billie and Alex are wizards.
• Then three days later after Milo, Roman and Giada Russo find out that Justin Russo is a wizard, Billie starts her first day of middle school in the mortal world at Greenwald Middle School where she is determines to make a new friend on her first day of school.
• Billie and Winter meet for the first time and Winter soon learns that Billie and Justin Russo are wizards and become friends.
• Justin Russo becomes the new principal of Greenwald Middle School.
• Billie becomes an honorary member of the Russo Family.
• Roman and Milo Russo become wizards and receive their own wands.
