"The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex" is an upcoming Disney Channel Special Event based on the TV series Wizards of Waverly Place. It will be the sequel to "Wizards of Waverly Place - The Movie" premieres March 18th 9pm ET/PT on Disney Channel.
Plot
A year after becoming family wizard, Alex is still not using magic responsibly. Alex does a spell that splits her into two Alex's, the good Alex, and the evil Alex. An Italian wizard develops a crush for Alex but she turns him down due to dating Mason. Mason later catches the Italian wizard's arm around Alex. The Italian wizard turns out to be evil, and the evil Alex joins forces with him while the good Alex tries to stop him. The good Alex is trying to save the world while the evil Alex is trying to take over the world

Production
The special was announced on September 27, 2012 and was shot from October 22 to November 10, 2012 in California. It will be executive produced by Selena Gomez. While David Henrie originally planned to star in the special, the shooting schedule conflicted with the shooting of an upcoming film he'll be starring in, therefore Henrie will only make a special guest appearance in the Disney Channel Original Movie. Even though the series ended, this movie was in production before they ended the series, making this the very last project of Wizards of Waverly Place. It will be aired on March 15th, 2013.

- Script from the movie is said to be filming from October 22, 2012 to November 10, 2012.
- Stated in many articles, Alex would have an Italian guy named Dominic. He will have feelings for her, but a side of him appears that she may not like.
- It is said that David Henrie (the actor of "Justin Russo") will be making a short guest appearance because he is focusing on another movie & wants to focus on much more mature scene of his career.
