"The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex" is an upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie based on the TV series Wizards of Waverly Place. It will be the sequel to Wizards Of Waverly Place: The Movie. It is set to premiere Friday, January 18, 2013 at 8/7c on Disney Channel.
Plot
The Russo family will travel to Italy to see Jerry's long lost relatives to see the magical side of the Russo family. In a attempt to prove that she isn't just a carefree wizard, Alex conjures up a spell that accidentally creates two Alexs: a good alex and an evil alex. Bad Alex join forces with a charismatic Italian wizard named Dominic in a attempt to take over the world. In the special's climax the good Alex and the bad Alex erminate of Wizardry on top on the Leaning Tower of Pisa. In addition, Alex will meet a boy named Dominic, who has feelings for Alex and at first seems sweet, but harbors a dark side that she may not like.
Production
The special was announced on September 27, 2012 and will be shot from October 22 to November 10, 2012 in California. It is slated to premiere January 18, 2013. It will be executive produced by Selena Gomez. David Henrie originally planned to star in the special, but the shooting schedule conflicted with the shooting of an upcoming film he'll be starring in, Henrie will only make a special guest appearance in the Disney Channel Original Movie. even though the series ended, this movie was in production before they ended the series, making this the very last project of Wizards of Waverly Place.
