Peter Murrieta is an American television producer and writer who worked on Wizards of Waverly Place as a writer and Executive Producer. He was also an executive producer for Hope & Faith.
Personal Life[]
His writing career began in college when a professor recognized his extraordinary gift for humor and introduced him to a Comedy Corner, a sketch comedy group. After writing and performing with them, he made the big move to Chicago to try and join the famed Second City improv group. After taking some classes, he found himself as part of the touring company where he understudied Stephen Colbert.
Career[]
He is best known for his work on the Disney Channel sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place, in which he served as head writer and executive producer during the first three seasons. He went on to win two Emmy Awards for his work on the series and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie. His most recent work is being an executive producer for the Cartoon Network live-action series, Level Up.
