"All About You-Niverse" is the twenty-fourth episode of season three of Wizards of Waverly Place, and the seventy-sixth of the overall series. It first aired on August 20, 2010.

Plot[]

Alex is grounded for stealing money from the cash register in order to buy a vending machine to fund a trip to Europe. In the lair, she then spots a magical mirror with a note that warns her not to touch it. Of course, she cannot resist stepping through. After she does, she enters an alternate universe where everything is all about her; every character in the universe does whatever Alex says, even if she doesn't mean it literally. When Mirror Harper abruptly breaks the mirror after Alex demands she do something to stop her mother from taking her back to the real world, it is revealed she is possibly stuck in the parallel "You-niverse" forever.

In the end, she realizes her decisions were wrong and wants to go back. Theresa, Justin, and Harper save the day by taping the broken mirror pieces together, enabling Alex to step through it. Back in the real world, Theresa grounds Alex, who accepts her punishment happily, claiming that while she may not always be right, at least she is surrounded by those who are.

Trivia[]

  • Morals:
    • Actions have consequences.
    • What may seem like a good idea to you can be hurtful to others.
  • Jerry is absent in this episode, as he is off fishing for metal with his childhood friend, Ponyboy.
    • Ponyboy was first mentioned in "Third Wheel" and once more again in "Moving On"; however, in "Third Wheel", Jerry explains that Ponyboy was only his friend because he found Jerry's sister Megan to be attractive.
    • Ponyboy's name is a reference to Ponyboy Curtis from the 1983 film The Outsiders, carrying on the trend that all of Jerry's friends are those sharing the names of characters from movies.
    • Max is absent in this episode as well, but it is unknown why or where he was.

Goofs[]

  • Alex goes into the mirror and everything is backwards, except her. However, if you look at her carefully, you'll notice that the rips on her jeans are reversed. The horizontal rip goes from the right leg to the left leg, and vice versa for the vertical rip. This is because of an error in how the filmmakers achieved the backwards effect. For the mirror world, Selena Gomez wore a shirt with backwards writing on it, and wore her earrings and bracelets on the opposite hands. Then the film was flipped so she'd appear to be correct and everything else would be backwards. But the costumer designer forgot to make a pair of jeans with reversed rips in them, so when the film was flipped, so were the rips.
