Alkaio Thiele is a Greek-American Actor. He's known for his work on The Wingfeather Saga, Spidey and His Amazing Friends, Call Me Kat, and his most notable work; Ogunquit Playhouse. He portrays Roman Russo in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
Biography[]
He began his professional acting career at the age of 11. Within months of committing to the entertainment industry, he booked feature film roles in A Christmas Mystery and festival award-winner I’ll Be There, quickly followed by his first television role on Call Me Kat alongside Mayim Bialik.
Thiele immediately made his mark in the world of animation as series-lead "Janner" in the fantasy-adventure series The Wingfeather Saga. He fulfilled a childhood dream of becoming a superhero when he became the voice of "Spidey (aka Peter Parker)" in season three of Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends, and "Jett: in the feature film Super Wings: Maximum Speed. Additionally, Thiele is the lead voice in the highly anticipated Cartoon Network comedy series, which was announced in May 2025 to be the revival seventh season of The Amazing World of Gumball, now titled The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, voicing the titular character. He is also featured in an Amazon anthology drama series, both slated for release in late 2024.
Thiele’s exceptional singing, dancing and improvisation have afforded him numerous notable regional theater credits, including "Michael Hobbs" in Ogunquit Playhouse’s Elf the Musical, ”Sam" in For the Record’s Love Actually Live and "the Artful Dodger" in 5-Star Theatricals’ Oliver!
When not immersed in professional projects, Thiele loves to sing, bike, travel, hike, swim, climb, produce amateur short films, play team sports, solve New York Times puzzles, go to extreme lengths to make people laugh, adventure with his family, watch every touring Broadway musical, and participate in fellowship.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Thiele currently resides in Los Angeles.

Trivia[]
- He has a younger brother named Zacchaio, that has a rare syndrome and had 30% of his brain removed to control his seizures.
- As such, being a “Big Brother” is a big part of Alkaio's personal identity. He considers his brother to be smart and funny and resilient and is a constant reminder to be kind, patient, and grateful.
- The Thiele family went to Disney World for Zacchaio's Make-A-Wish; subsequently Disney gave Alkaio a chance to participate from the other side. There have been Make-a-Wish kids on the set of Wizards, and he has recorded special messages for kids as Spidey.
- Alkaio is half-Greek just like his co-star Mimi Gianopulos who plays his on-screen mother Giada Russo in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.[2]
- Alkaio has an autoimmune disease called Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. It’s a form of Rheumatoid Arthritis.[3] It causes a lot of pain and swelling in all his joints. He is on a strict diet that has allowed him to being almost as active as he was pre-diagnosis.
- Alkaio was born the day after the episode Alex's Logo premiered on Disney Channel.
- He falls asleep every night listening to Harry Potter audio books narrated by British actor Jim Dale.
- He grew up with parents who weren’t fans of screen time, so he didn’t really watch TV or movies until the pandemic.
- He loves slapstick comedy particularly by Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, they inspired him to use facial and body movements in extreme ways.
- He could’ve been a 90s kid. His favorite kind of fun is real basic. his idea of a perfect day would be biking to a friend’s house for water balloons and wiffle ball.
- He is a musical theatre nerd and tries not to miss any touring Broadway shows
- His dream Broadway roles would be "Phillip" or "P. T. Barnum" in The Greatest Showman, "Buddy the Elf", and "Evan Hansen."
- He does not like scary movies. Hubie Halloween is the scariest movie he's ever fully watched. He has no interest in the horror genre and is unsure that he could handle it if he ever wanted to try it out.
- However, he does want to be in a horror movie,
- Zippers give him the "heebie jeebies." He actively avoids clothes with metal buttons or zippers. but will wear them if necessary.
- He makes music everywhere he goes. Humming, singing, piano, ukulele, kalimba, drumming, stomping, clicking. He calls his mind a cacophony of melodies and will often respond to normal conversation in song.
